While on a shopping trip with a friend in search of baby bedding, Catherine Fitzsimmons realized that all of the choices looked the same. She started to wonder if there was another option that would embrace babies and parents with a bit more style while still maintaining a sweet, infant look. Enamored by the tradition of Indian block-printing techniques and inspired from her previous trips to India, Catherine used her experiences and contacts to set her project in motion. Thus, Rikshaw Design was born and, as Catherine Fitzsimmons believes -- and thus designs -- bohemian babies are everywhere and just need a way to show their style.
Lali is the hindi name meaning "darling girl" and lends inspiration to the Lali Collection from Rikshaw Design. This delicately modern baby bedding is hand block-printed in India on the softest Indian cotton and features an abundance of florals and tiny paisleys. The pink and yellow modern nursery set includes bumper, quilt and bedskirt. Intricately detailed, the crib bumper, a box-style with french knots, has contrast ties and piping. The quilt has different patterns on both sides, diamond hand-quilting and will be the perfect blanket as baby grows up. The crib bedskirt has ruffled pleating for a graceful, feminine finish.
